REVIVAL OF KALAM

Kalamkari is a type of hand painting or block printing on various textiles. This art is originated from India, wherein the “kalam” or pen is used for free hand drawing of the motifs and is filled with natural dyes or colours.
This craft involves 23 steps and takes days to create one completed design.
With Revival of Kalam our aim was to revive these dying unrecognized art forms and use them in a contemporary and stylised way. Each and every shoe is imprinted with the essence of a centuries old tradition that still survives, thanks to the skill of the best craftsmen in the world. Our aim is to celebrate art and spread it across the globe.
